DGSE Colloquium Speaker Series—March 6

A message from Philipp Ruprecht, UNR Dept. of Geological Sciences & Engineering (DGSE): “This upcoming Monday (March 6th), we have Dr. Wes Thelen presenting on “Tracking magma and volatile pathways under Kilauea Volcano.” Wes was the Seismic Network Coordinator at Hawaiian Volcano Observatory with the USGS and has recently moved to the Vancouver, WA, office to be part of the seismic monitoring team at Cascade Volcano Observatory. He is a Truckee-native and started his career in the Earth Sciences at no other place than the University of Nevada, Reno! So, if you want to get inspired where a UNR degree can take you to, then please join us at 4 pm in DMS 102. Of course if want to know the latest about active Hawaiian volcanoes, this is your chance to hear from someone who has been up close.”
