DGSE/GPHS Lectures—Feb 29 and Mar 4

A message from Dr. Scott McCoy, Department of Geological Sciences and Engineering (DGSE) about upcoming lectures:

1) Monday, February 29th at 5 PM in LME 425, Dr. Ramon Arrowsmith from ASU will give the Slemmons Lecture titled: High Resolution Topography and Active Faulting.

An update from Dr. Scott Mccoy, DGSE: Our speaker for today is delayed due to fog in San Francisco. His talk will now take place at 5 o’clock in LME 425. Note new location! Given the later time, we will start the standard social concurrently with the talk.

2)  Friday March 4GPHS (Graduate Program of Hydrologic Sciences) and DGSE are cosponsoring a colloquium by Dr. Mark Engle, a graduate of the GPHS program who now works for the USGS in Texas. He will talk about “Geochemistry and origin of produced waters from shale gas and tight oil reservoirs” in DMS 110 at 4 pm.
